SDAHQ Inspires Quality Improvement Solutions

Inspiration for solving a problem often comes from gaining outside perspectives.  Joining the South Dakota Association of Healthcare Quality (SDAHQ) provides an opportunity to grow as a quality improvement professional through networking and education.

“Focusing on solving problems is part of the daily work of a quality improvement professional. Being a member of SDAHQ provides a support network to brainstorm solutions and to celebrate successes,” shared Stacie Fredenburg, director of development and outreach for the South Dakota Foundation for Medical Care (SDFMC) and secretary for SDAHQ.

SDAHQ’s mission is to improve the quality of healthcare and support the development of professionals in healthcare quality. With a common focus on quality improvement, many team members from the SDFMC are actively engaged as SDAHQ members or leaders.

“My quality improvement background was limited when I first joined SDAHQ,” shared Fredenburg. “A group from SDFMC attended SDAHQ’s Yellow Belt training together. We came away energized and full of new ideas. Best of all, we had the tools and practical knowledge to turn the ideas into a reality. “

Professionals of every level from any health care setting are encouraged to join SDAHQ and attend the spring conference to learn more about quality improvement.
